Welcome to Myles Funerals. I am Robert Myles and I have been in the funeral industry since 2002, during which time I have helped many families in dealing with their loss.
Perhaps you have heard of a ‘direct’ cremation and seen adverts on the tv, leaving you unsure of what it involves. A surprising number of people are now opting for a direct funeral for a variety of reasons; distance from family, non-religious beliefs, a dislike of fuss, preference for a memorial service rather than a traditional funeral, low or no budget, or more crudely, perhaps you are the only distant relation of someone who has passed away and find yourself faced with the bill! Direct cremation removes the need for a funeral service, allowing family and friends the freedom to arrange a memorial service at their own convenience. Many funeral directors offer budget friendly packages, including direct funerals, but they still have hidden costs to be added. The process itself is quite straightforward. Once the death has been registered, we can assist with the necessary administration, taking care of the deceased whilst making arrangements for the cremation. This would take place early in the morning with no-one in attendance. The ashes can be scattered or held at the crematorium for family to collect or we will return them to you when you could arrange a memorial service, perhaps plant them, keep them at home or dispose as you wish
If you prefer, we can also help you care for your loved one in your home until the time of the cremation, returning the ashes to you afterwards.
Our direct cremation rate is £900
Contact us 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and we will be pleased to assist.
